One of our goals at Wild Wonder Forest School is to make our programs accessible to all families. We are striving to achieve this by making bursaries available to low-income families. These bursaries are funded through private donations, fundraising efforts and donations from partner organizations. If you, or your organization, want to help us meet this goal of increasing accessibility through bursaries, please let us know!

Although all programs may not have bursary positions, we will list them on this page when any are available.

available Bursaries

Winter 2018

We are very excited to announce that we have 3 bursaries available for our winter forest school session beginning January 18th!

  1. Available to Amherst-area families: 1 Bursary
One full bursary for a child that will cover 100% of the Forest School fee. This bursary was generously gifted from an anonymous family.

  2. Available to Sackville-area families: 2 Bursaries
Two bursaries for Sackville families from the Rotary Club of Sackville. These bursaries will allow 2 children to attend at a reduced rate ($105, instead of $210.)

If you know of someone who would benefit from either of these bursaries, please let them know. We ask that interested families answer 3 questions by noon on Saturday, January 13th and we will inform families of our decision by the following day.

We allow families to self-identify as low-income. According to Statscan: “A person living alone had low income if his or her after‑tax income was under $22,133, while persons in a household of four had low income if the household’s after‑tax income was under $44,266.”

To apply for a bursary, please send us a message (email: answering the following questions:

  1. How would your child (and potentially your family) benefit from participating in this program?
  2. Is there anything else we should know about your child or your family’s situation?
  3. Would you be interested in volunteering in some capacity? Although this is not required, we do appreciate the help of volunteers! If you have ideas about specific ways you’d like to get involved, please let us know!

*Please note you must be able to arrange reliable transportation to and from Forest School.

*Applications must be received by noon on Saturday, January 13th.
